I’m Meredith, a 55-year-old woman who’s been divorced for 10 years, single again for the past three years after the end of a seven-year relationship, and coming up on two years since making a career change. (Because why spread all of life’s major transitions out over decades?)
Now I’m figuring out how to embrace being a party of one while juggling two adult children, a parent in her golden years, a dog with plenty of personality, a new professional path, and whatever this next chapter is supposed to look like.
Even after all this time, I haven’t fully conquered the loneliness that can come with being single, and I’m still learning how to truly live life on my own terms. This blog began as a way to make sense of dating in midlife, but somewhere along the way it became about so much more. Here you’ll find stories about family, friendship, caregiving, work, purpose, solo adventures, and all the unexpected lessons that seem to arrive in the middle of ordinary days.
Yes, I’m still looking for love. I hope it’s part of my story. But I’m also learning not to wait for love before living a full life. Some days I do that better than others.
If you’re navigating your own next chapter—with the occasional “Who’s got my back?” moment—I get it. I’m glad you’re here.
