About Me

I’m Meredith, a 54-year-old woman who’s been divorced for over nine years and single for the last year and a half after ending a seven-year relationship. Oh, and I’ve recently made a career change. (Because why not add all the transitions at once, right?) Now I’m figuring out how to embrace being a party of one — while juggling two adult kids, a parent in her golden years, a 3-year-old fur baby on Zoloft, a new professional path, and whatever this next chapter is supposed to look like.

Even after all this time, I haven’t fully conquered the loneliness that comes with being single, and I’ve struggled to truly live life on my own terms. But I’m committed to working on it. This blog is my journey of learning to enjoy my own company, embrace the ups and downs, and discover that being alone doesn’t have to mean being lonely. While I’m still looking for love and connection, I’m also focused on getting comfortable in my own skin. It’s messy, it’s real, and it’s a whole lot more complicated than I thought – but I’m leaning into it, one awkward date, solo dinner, travel adventure, and Netflix binge at a time.

If you’re on the same journey of learning to love your solo life, with the occasional “who’s got my back?” moments, I get it.

Let’s ponder, share, and laugh through it together – because seriously, what else can we do?
